| This version of CenturiAns of Rome (=offcial name with incorrect spelling) is a fully restored copy of the original DVD. The quality of the DVD requires not only AI upscale, but also additional processing such as color correction and sharpening. The audio has been improved as well.
Corrections made are: 1. Deinterlaced with Yadif Deinterlace 2. Color Correction through Vegas Pro 20 3. AI correction and upscaling through Topaz 3.1.9. 4. Additional Denoising and Sharpening through Neat Video 5.5.7 plugin in Vegas 5. Cleaned and enhanced audio track in Adobe Audition with additional rendering of the musical score in stereo. The result is an acceptable version of this great movie, in my opinion. Although most of the original noise and grain has been removed, the artifacts visible are the result of bad input material. Given the (iilegal) funds available, it is a pity that the producers have not spent more money on the quality of the recording. |
